Why KidServices Grey-Bruce?
KidServices Grey-Bruce was created in response to a clear and growing need for accessible, comprehensive safety and babysitting training in our rural community. Through my personal experiences, education, and work across mental health, childcare, and family support, I’ve seen firsthand how essential it is for kids to develop the skills, confidence, and awareness they need to stay safe in everyday situations.
A core part of our mission is ensuring that every family—regardless of financial barriers—can access high-quality safety education. That’s why KidServices Grey-Bruce has implemented a program cost freeze, keeping our fees steady and intentionally affordable so more families can participate without added stress. Accessibility isn’t an extra for us—it’s one of our core values.
In addition to our standard safety and babysitting programs, we also offer Safety for Independent Living, a specialized program designed for older youth with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Led by Trisha, this program provides structured, practical guidance to help young people build independence, make safe choices, and navigate their communities with greater confidence.
Our purpose is simple: to promote the well-being of children and youth in our community. Whether they are learning to stay home alone, stepping into their first babysitting role, or working toward increased independence, we strive to create a safe, supportive environment that empowers them with resilience, self-reliance, and real-world skills they can carry into every stage of life.
